Denna walked down the long hallway of her brothel, she never expected to own one though. Despite herself she let her thoughts wander and remembered a time when she was still at the temple in Jondralyn, Lord Rahl's favorite Mord'Sith and had a legion of her sisters at her command.

Ever so quietly, the familiar feeling creeped into her and fulfilled her wholly with a strange, persistent sensation - before her trained mind was able to lock it out.

Loneliness.

Sometimes it had tried to overwhelm her before, but she had always succeeded to keep it at arm's length. Today was difficult.

It was the same day the Seeker came along with his Mord'Sith. She knew that Cara was like her an outcast among the Mord'Sith, but the thought did not quite managed to comfort her tortured mind as much she had hoped it would.

There was a difference. Once there was none.

As she caught Cara, leaving her new place to live, she asked her to stay - just a moment longer.

Cara distrusted her - and Denna distrusted Cara just as much. But that was not the status Denna wanted to change. She did not know what she wanted in that moment – but she was sure Cara was able to provide it.

And indeed, Cara provided her with a brief moment of pure bliss.

A moment of feeling whole and complete again – like the Mord'Sith she once had been.

The day went by and Cara left. Denna had wanted to close the gaping hole inside her – yet it only had grown even bigger.

The wizard, who had been in her service, was able to solve her problem - in her very own way. The day repeated itself just with a different outcome.

She never had to be afraid of her loneliness again, when the arrow pierced her heart - and she stepped backwards off the cliff.
